Timber is perfect for bespoke designs in Traditional Georgian, Edwardian and Victorian styles and can also be used in modern properties to add a contemporary touch of class.

The natural beauty of timber only serves to enhance your chosen conservatory style and the transition between home and garden becomes almost seamless. We only use timber from well managed sources and it can be supplied in a variety of finishes.

Let Mitchell Glass take care of it all.

We project manage your full timber conservatory installation for you, from dealing with all official Local Authority paperwork, to coordinating additional trades such as heating engineers and electricians from our selected contacts.

We mainly specialise in The Scottish Borders, Edinburgh and the Lothians although we have installed conservatories as far away as Gairloch by request.

“The conservatory gives me great pleasure and is quickly admired by my visitors. Please give my best wishes to David and Stephen (Installers)"

Have your own plans?

We welcome you to visit to our show site in Galashiels if you already have plans from your own Architect. If you prefer, we can come out to your home to discuss the final details and get your project moving.

At our show centre you can see our Timber Chatsworth Conservatory and also meet one of our experienced designers Ian Hyslop, Graeme Currie or Kenny Scott. If you contact one of them before dropping in, they can have all the relevant information ready for you.

Once we fully understand exactly what you are looking for, we will present you with costings and a full specification, allowing you time to conclude your decision.

"Mr Hyslop is a very pleasant salesman -not pushy or overbearing."

Looking for design ideas?

If you are just at the ideas stage, one of designers can come to your home to help design a bespoke masterpiece to add style, beauty and warmth to your home.

We combine the oldest designs with the latest technology to make sure your conservatory has good thermal properties.

After your initial consultation we can produce 3d visualisation drawings to give you an idea of how your finished conservatory will look on your home. From this we can produce full specification details and costings

Once you decide on the finished design we take care of all planning and building warrant applications with your Local Authorities. All the technical drawings are produced by our in-house Architectural Technician and a copy will be presented to you before commencement.

Timber selection.

Using the highest grade of materials we can help you select a hardwood to match your requirements from Meranti, Oak, Sapele or any preferred choice. Each timber has its own character and benefits.

You have the choice of a fully painted finish in any colour of your choice using micro porous paint to help the timber breath or from a selection of stains to allow the beauty of the timber to show through.

The Construction?

Whether your property is built with natural stone, bricks or rendered, we will search for a suitable match seamlessly connect your conservatory with your home. The building work is built to the highest standards and is all covered under our Guarantee.

The timber framework is carefully erected by one of our experienced installers after manufacturing. All the timber is fully treated during manufacturing but we also send our painter to fully seal the conservatory to ensure your new addition is fully protected against our Scottish weather.

Our roofers will finish off your conservatory with neat lead work to ensure a watertight seal against your existing home. If we are altering your existing roof structure we will match tile or slates to match your home.

We will then dispatch our experienced contractors to install your electrical and plumbing fixtures. We can even organise home entertainment systems to complete your conservatory.

We always use a traditional skim finish to the walls which allows for smooth finish ready for decoration.

Finally, our experienced installers return to complete the internal work. We can advise on a selection of internal finishings to complement your existing home.

Throughout the conservatory installation our project manager will visit you to ensure you peace of mind and answer any questions you may have.
