Our eye for perfection makes Mitchells the choice of discerning customers.

We will use all our expertise, gained in the business since 1875, to create the conservatory of your dreams. Hardwood, redwood, PVCu or aluminium are available in all styles and colours. All the work shown is our own and we can take you to visit customers in the Scottish Borders, Edinburgh and the Lothians if you would like to see at first hand the quality of our workmanship.

A Mitchells Conservatory

Your conservatory must reflect your taste and suit the contours of your home. We must carefully consider the location and your lifestyle. We always advise our customers to think carefully about the size of the proposed conservatory as it usually becomes the favourite room in the house. Each conservatory is individually designed to suit your home and dwarf wall material is carefully matched. Your conservatory should look as if it has always been there and we want our customers to be delighted with the finished result.  Read some of their comments on the Testimonial page. A variety of colours and finishes are available and the choice is endless - a dwarf wall, decorative infill panels or glass to the floor for light and view; a tiled floor, a laminated wood floor finish for practicality or simply a concrete floor for your own choice or carpet or vinyl. Why not choose to have coloured, leaded or diamond cut glass. We offer a wide range of options.

The Planning

Each conservatory we build is unique and attention to detail at the conception stage is essential.  We listen carefully to your ideas and using the combination of state-of-the-art technology and time-tested skills are able to offer you various alternatives and the best advice which, of course, comes free.  Our experience over 130 years  becomes apparent when we are faced with difficult sites. We will always endeavour to overcome problems with drains, downpipes, air vents, awkward shaped roofs etc  to enable your dream conservatory to be built. We will guide you through the requirements of local authority planning and building control regulations and, if you wish, take care of any necessary applications. Our friendly office staff, who keep you informed of the progress of your conservatory, carry out the work behind the scenes to meet deadlines, co-ordinate conveyance, and make sure everything runs according to plan.

The Construction

A conservatory will only add value to your home if it is of quality materials and stable construction.  Each Mitchells' design is thoroughly checked for stablility according to the Glass and Glazing Federation guidelines.  All base, roofing and electrical work is carried out to current building regulations and local authority standards and specifications by our qualified builders and electricians.  Our own fully trained fitters assemble the conservatory framework.  We have achieved our enviable reputation in the internal finishings which exceed customer expectations time and again.

The Product

Our variety is endless and limited only by your imagination. We have a wide range of products in timber, PVCu and aluminium to enable us to cater for your individual requirements.  Our conservatories are fully insulated to fulfil The Technical Standards Document J of the new building regulations which came into force in March 2002.  They can be heated and therefore be lived in all year round.  Additional peace of mind is provided by our 10-year guarantee.
