Project Snapshot
Client: Graeme Moyes
Location: Selkirk
Scope: Conservatory, aluminium doors, bespoke staircase
Design & Delivery: Mitchell Glass
Key Features: • PVCu Conservatory from Conservatory Outlet • Sunflex Aluminium Bi-Fold Doors • Oak Staircase with Frameless Glass Balustrade
The Challenge
The client approached Mitchell Glass at a homebuilding exhibition, seeking support with a wide-reaching renovation – an open-plan layout, new conservatory, statement staircase, and modern glazing. Rather than juggle multiple contractors, they were drawn to Mitchell Glass’s in-house approach, with a single team offering expert advice, project oversight and technical precision from start to finish.
The Solution
Mitchell Glass delivered a fully managed renovation that combined functionality, elegance, and comfort.
- PVCu Conservatory
Supplied by Conservatory Outlet, this contemporary extension was designed for year-round use, maximising natural light while ensuring energy efficiency. Slim sightlines and a neutral finish allow the space to feel both expansive and calm. - Sunflex Aluminium Bi-Fold Doors
Installed between the conservatory and garden, the bi-folding panels create a striking connection to the outdoors. With minimal framing and flush thresholds, the design balances high-performance thermal values with uninterrupted views. - Bespoke Timber Staircase
Crafted in oak and finished with frameless glass balustrades, the staircase is a central feature of the home. It brings warmth and modernity to the interior while enhancing the flow of light throughout the space.
Planning permissions, building warrant drawings and site coordination were all handled by Mitchell Glass, ensuring a stress-free experience and exacting finish.
The Result
The renovation reflects a quiet confidence – contemporary, but not brash; practical, yet full of character. The craftsmanship and clarity of design have left a lasting impression.
