3 Easy DIY Ideas You Can Complete This Summer

There will be very little scope for a holiday abroad this summer, so why not invest the money you will save from not going abroad into your home instead!

SUNFLEX - Sliding Doors

If you like the idea of enhancing where you live, but would rather use that holiday money for other things, that can easily be achieved.

There are loads of little DIY jobs you can do to improve it that will cost you very little or nothing, and with summer really close now, it’s time to get them done.

Need some DIY ideas to inspire you? Mitchell Glass has a few up its sleeve that we’re willing to share:

Give old cabinets a repaint or reface them

Is the appearance of your kitchen or bathroom cabinets letting down the rest of these rooms?

If the units remain structurally sound, you don’t need to replace them. You can just apply a fresh coat of paint to the outside of the units, or reface them with a new coloured covering. Update their hardware too.

You will be astounded at the difference it makes, and it will be so cheap to do. Holding on to your original units is also a good green measure.

Create a gallery on a bare wall

When you have a bare wall in your living room that you’re not sure how best to decorate, how about turning it into a gallery with a particular theme.

Hang pictures to the wall that feature all of your favourite family snaps taken at home and on holiday, or if you’re a music-lover, opt for shots of bands and artists you particularly admire or some of their album covers.

Buy frames of various shapes and sizes, with contrasting coloured frames, to make the wall really engaging to guests.

Use unused pallets in the garden

How about your garden, that deserves some attention too! You will be out there a lot in summer, so it makes sense to enhance the space.

If you have any pallets at home or can get your hands on some, you could upcycle them in some way for your garden.

We’ve seen pallets be transformed into vertical planters for those who want to grow plants upwards in their garden, while some convert them into bench-like furniture, adding padding to the back and bottom so that they can be sat on comfortably.
