Clean To A Gleam – Looking After Your UPVC Windows And Doors

One of the biggest selling points of UPVC is that it is weather resistant and therefore doesn’t necessitate any repainting a few months/years down the line. We say it is maintenance-free and it largely is, however, after a prolonged period it can sometimes get marked, scuffed and dirty and to restore it back to its best you have to give it a proper clean to leave it gleaming again.

White UPVC Windows

You can’t just apply any cleaning fluid to the material e.g. bleach, WD40 and methylated spirits as they could cause irreversible damage and do more harm than good. There is a knack to cleaning UPVC internally and externally and it’s extremely easy and quick to do when you abide by the following guidelines: • Use the nozzle of your hoover to suck away any dirt or grime that has formed in the various nooks and crannies of the window or door, best done when it is left fully opened. • Submerge a non-abrasive sponge into some hot soapy water and give the entire window or door a thorough wipe down. • Dry the windows or door/s with a soft tea towel or something similar. • Don’t forget to clean the glass too so that you get a crystal clear vision of the outdoors. If you’ve yet to upgrade your traditional windows and doors to a set of UPVC equivalents then you really need to visit our Galashiels showroom where we have a huge amount of UPVC designs on display. UPVC isn’t just weather-resistant; it also looks extremely elegant and offers immense security for your home. Put your faith in UPVC today.
