Customer Rewarded In Festival Tickets Giveaway

We mentioned on our blog a couple of months ago that Mitchell Glass would be sponsoring the annual Borders Book Festival.
To celebrate we thought it would be nice to give a pair of FREE tickets away to see one of Scotland’s best-loved comedy actors speak at the event, Gregor Fisher.

The lucky winner of our Facebook competition was Keith Nairn from Melrose who saw Gregor being interviewed last month by the Festival Director, Alistair Moffat.

Most famous for his role playing the drunken Glaswegian Rab C Nesbitt, Gregor was there to discuss his recently released memoir A Boy from Nowhere which movingly details his complicated upbringing after he was adopted not once, but twice.

It was just one of dozens of fascinating talks held throughout the 4 days of the festival and we attended many ourselves, including one with Scottish Rugby Union great Gavin Hastings.

An estimated 25,300 visitors from across the country converged on Melrose to hear many of the UK’s top authors and politicians wax lyrical about their area of expertise.

We are already looking forward to next year’s event.

And speaking of shows, it was nice to see some of our work featured on the exhibition stand of Fjordhus at the 176th Royal Highland Show.

Fjordhus specialise in building timber framed houses and appointed us to install a frameless glass balustrade at a home in the small village of Gattonside. It’s a stunning addition to an already beautiful residence.
