E.ON Advises UK Homeowners To Get Smarter

Were you aware that you could save money on your energy bills simply by installing a smart meter in your home? If you were not then you are not alone. Energy company E.ON estimates that around 37 million Brits could be missing out on a 4 per cent reduction on their energy bills because of it. E.ON says only 100,000 of its customers have opted to have a smart meter fitted. The reason why many, including the government, advocate the use of a smart meter is because it enables you to monitor how much energy your home is consuming. You can then manage your heating usage much more effectively and ensure that consumption never exceeds what you need, bringing down the cost of fuel in the process.
Head of Customer Learning at E.ON, Jean Fiddes, says:
“Smart meters allow consumers to easily visualise their energy consumption daily, weekly and monthly, meaning they have increased transparency into their daily energy habits, providing accurate bills and greater management of their finances.
“Our customers want smart meters and those who now have them are extremely pleased with the technology, in terms of putting them in control of their energy use and bringing an end to estimated bills.”

It is advised that anyone suffering with expensive energy bills contacts their current energy supplier and asks if they are able to provide you with a smart meter.
Once you have a smart meter installed, if you haven’t already, you should look into installing double glazing in Edinburgh, double glazing in Selkirk or double glazing in Livingston from Mitchell Glass as it can help you make further savings on household fuel.
