Feeling Flush? Got A Spare £29 Million?

It’s the ultimate dream for the majority of homeowners in this wonderful country of ours, to own the most expensive property in Scotland. Well if you’ve got very deep pockets, that dream could quickly become a reality as the nation’s most costly abode in still on the market at a cool £29 million; Kinpurnie Estate.

On sale for the first time in a century and situated near Dundee, Kinpurnie Estate was built in 1906 and offers 5,500 acres of land (4,228 of which are for farmland, with 923 acres of woodland), 26 estate dwellings, six privately owned lochs and a pheasant shoot. The estate contains two separate properties; Kinpurnie Castle and Thriepley House. Each of them can be bought separately at a cost of £2.5m and £6m respectively, but the current incumbents’ preference is to attract the £29million price tag for the whole estate. Kinpurnie Castle comes with eight bedrooms, while Thriepley House boasts just one more, from where you can experience the most breath-taking views. The decision to put the estate on the market was made by the family of owner Sir James Cayzer, a friend of the Queen Mother, who passed away in 2012. It beats the record previously held by the £25million Foghsgaard Spott Estate, located in East Lothian, which went up for sale in 2010. Bit out of your price bracket? Why not improve, rather than move anyway! Mitchell Glass is home to a fantastically diverse selection of windows, doors & conservatories, as well as a whole range of other quality offerings.
