MSP Passes On Her Congratulations To Mitchell Glass

Last month we mentioned that Mitchell Glass had achieved a little slice of history and become the first company in the Scottish Borders to achieve the much sought after Investors in Young People Accreditation.

We were immensely proud to record such an accomplishment and what made it all the sweeter is that we gained word of it just in time for our 140th anniversary in business, giving us extra reason to celebrate this historic landmark. Since then we have also been contacted by MSP Annabelle Ewing, the Minister for Youth and Women’s Employment in the Scottish Parliament, who was kind enough to pass on her congratulations on this significant feat. She wrote the following letter to our managing director Peter Roden:  We would like to thank her for her generous words and promise to continue giving gifted young people opportunities to work. Speaking of our recent birthday, Mitchell Glass ran a competition via our Facebook page to mark our 140 years of existence giving one customer the chance to win a Champagne Afternoon Tea for two at the stunning Roxburghe Hotel in Kelso. As the business was established in Roxburghshire in 1875, we thought it fitting to offer a related prize. We are delighted to announce that the lucky winner was Brenda Henderson.
